Erdinger: Weissbräu

Erdinger boasts the world’s largest wheat beer brewery where tradition and progress go hand in hand. Brewed according to traditional recipes, but using state-of-the-art technology, beer connoisseurs in Germany and around the world regard the traditional specialty beers from Erding, Bavaria, as the ultimate in wheat beer enjoyment

Erdinger Weissbier is a misty golden straw yellow with a high bright white fluffy head. It is a really light aromas with slight spices and banana alongside the outdoors like grass and straw, it’s almost summery. The mouth feel is of bitter yeast and a slight spice and banana with light bready tones. Finishes pretty light and is crisp and thirst quenching.  Poured into a traditional Weizen glass, and you’ve got yourself one sexy looking beer. It is a lighter example of the style and I love that in a beer!  I tried this beer in The Chanter and it is the second of 32 new beers on my list of 32 Things.  I really enjoyed this beer, it has the lighter elements that for me make it so thirst quenching and drinkable, my first of the wheetbers that i have enjoyed!
